How It Started - With a Cat

I'm Ariana. And this is how Skin of Gold began.

The origin of Skin of Gold is not a glamorous story. There was no lab. No dermatologist. No investor pitch.

There was a phone call from a distraught client whose cat had been diagnosed with a serious illness she couldn't afford to treat conventionally. Steven, our formulator …the man whose instinct for finding the root cause of any problem borders on the uncanny, recommended a concentrated aloe vera extract and a handful of supplements. Simple. Immediate. Confident. That's how he works.

I was in the room. I got curious.

We ordered the aloe extract for ourselves. When it arrived, Steven opened the container and, the way he does everything, simply tried it. Slathered it on his face that evening without ceremony or expectation.

The next morning, his 62-year-old skin was velvety, vibrant and frankly unfair to look at.

I touched his cheek. I said, without thinking, without planning, without any idea what I was starting, "Can you make me a cream with that?"

He smiled. He said "Pass me the colloidal gold and silver."

He sat down at the kitchen table and wrote the formula by hand. I mixed the first batch.

That was 2010. In a farmhouse kitchen in upstate New York.

Why Skin of Gold Exists - and Why It Took Us This Long to Say It Plainly

Natural lifestyle researcher. Former homeschooling mother. My boys are grown now, but the values that shaped those years still shape everything I do. Practical. Pragmatic. Deeply suspicious of anything that complicates what should be simple.

And for years, I had skin that frustrated me.

Not dramatically. Not in a way that stopped my life. But enough. My face was a study in contradiction: a permanently shiny forehead, dry peeling skin around my mouth, combination skin that refused to be managed no matter what I tried. On my hands and arms, eczema had left its marks. Scars that lingered long after the condition itself had quietened down through changes in diet and a great deal of emotional work.

I wasn't looking for a miracle. I'm far too practical for that. I was looking for something honest and effective; something that worked with my skin's own intelligence rather than overriding it with harsh ingredients and empty promises.

It didn't exist. So we made it.

The First Time I Used It

I had no great expectations. I'd been disappointed too many times.

But the first time I applied Skin of Gold, something shifted. It's hard to describe without sounding dramatic, so I'll use the words I wrote down at the time:

I felt at home in my skin. After decades of discomfort, finally, at home.

No greasiness. No complicated ritual. Just skin that felt, for the first time in memory, like it was being listened to rather than overridden.

People noticed. Other mothers I spent time with started asking what I was doing differently. I didn't have a polished answer. I just had Skin of Gold.

I used it on my face for the combination skin that had plagued me for years. I used it on my hands and arms, on the scarring left behind by eczema. The scars were stubborn. Skin of Gold helped them fade in a way nothing else had managed.

How We Actually Make Things

Steven is not a conventional formulator. He doesn't start with a marketing brief and work backwards to an ingredient list. He starts with a problem, a real one, in a real person - and asks what the body actually needs to restore its own balance.

Every formula is built around what we call the exquisite dose. A real scientific principle: the precise amount of each ingredient that the body recognises and responds to naturally. Not more. Not less. Enough to prompt the body's own intelligence to do what it already knows how to do.

The ingredients come from the botanical and mineral kingdoms. Plants, colloidal metals, essential oils, organic extracts, nutrients. Things the body has been working with for thousands of years.

We make in small batches. Every bottle is accountable. We don't cut corners because in small batch production, corners cannot be hidden.

What Drives Us

Every product I make, I use myself. Every formula Steven creates, he would put on his own family without hesitation.

We donate bottles of Skin of Gold to domestic violence survivors in Oakland County, MI. Not as a marketing strategy. Because caring for your community and caring for your skin are not separate things.

Our mission hasn't changed since that kitchen table in 2010. Make something honest. Make it work. Let the results speak.

You don't need convincing that simple and natural can be powerful. You already know that.

We just need to show you what fifteen years of quiet, careful formulation actually looks like in an airless pump bottle.
