Lemon and Cherry Detox Smoothie Recipe
Keep this recipe as simple as possible avoiding the urge to add anything else. This simple lemon formula is easily digested and quickly absorbed.
NOTE: If you add much more fruit, it will become more of a dessert and won’t be nearly as beneficial. Always avoid adding yogurt, protein powder, banana, kale or other vegetables. Adding these results in SLOW DIGESTION, degradation of macro-nutrients leading to poor absorption and won’t allow for proper detoxification.
Add to a blender (2-quart blender - leaving 4 ounces at the top for the smoothie to expand with air)
4 or more ounces of fresh-squeezed lemon juice & pulp
1/3 cup frozen pitted cherries (NOT cherry juice)
fill the blender with water and/or ice
Thoroughly blend at high speed. You may add seeds – they just pulverize & settle to the bottom.
The entire serving is to be consumed by 1 person on an empty stomach.
Optional substitutions:
We sometimes keep optional food for substitutions on hand. Consider substituting a handful of frozen blueberries and 4-5 wedges frozen pineapple for the cherries.
