Ariana, here to tell you a little bit about us!

I'm Ariana, mompreneur, researcher and advocate of natural living... here with my partner, Steven Douglas, product developer, naturopathic consultant, and practitioner. Together, we enjoy a practical approach to life and perspectives centered around healthy living, knowledge, and total commitment to improving conditions in this beautiful world. We have the good fortune of abundant health & wellbeing, and it's a great pleasure to pass it on to others.

A natural lifestyle for me includes good nutrition, self-knowing, self-reliance, home education, theology, history, and the like. I spend much of my free time researching and implement ideals that are socially responsible and promote balanced health and wellness. As the proud mother of two wonderful sons, I remain extremely conscious of the purity of our thoughts, food and the products we use at home. They still remain the center & driving force of this perspective and lifestyle. When I developed chronic eczema in my teens, I began a quest to overcome it, naturally. Removal of mercury amalgam fillings was the first significant step in healing many long-standing problems. Other steps included emotional healing and change of diet & lifestyle, which included herbal, homeopathic and other remedies.

As someone who prefers minimal & natural skincare, when I would purchase natural or organic skin care products, I found four major issues...

Their quality and consistency was not luxurious enough for the ticket price.
They were truly not effective at all!
Their shelf life was too short.
and MOST importantly... they were too complicated and time-consuming. I'm sure you would agree that more than one product in your skincare beauty regimen is TOO MANY!

So, like many of you, hundreds of dollars of skin care products sat on my vanity, collecting dust.

Hello friends, I'm Steven Douglas, Ariana's partner, co-founder of Botanical Joy, LLC, developer of Skin of Gold face cream and other products, and passionate writer of informative health blogs. Thanks for the compliments, Ariana, but truly, you are the heart and soul of the Skin of Gold. Ariana is a kind and generous human being who steps aside so others can shine. I may not be as charming as my counterpart, but I’m as sincere and well-meaning :)

Our common beliefs and values make us work very well together.

I spend the vast majority of time pursuing stimulating experiences and immersing myself in the study of health and natural medicine. Over the decades, my resume has been built around working for a variety of practitioners, including medical doctors, a holistic dentist, a chiropractor and a high-profile non-profit organization. In these roles, I have gained incredibly valuable experience as a practitioner, giving private, nutritional consultations at various locations including an herbal product company, various retail venues, and in my own office. The gratification I receive helping others to restore their health is intense and poignant.

In 2010, we founded Botanical Joy LLC, with the purpose of creating and marketing a luxurious, yet affordable skin cream that’s natural, organic, healthy and EFFECTIVE for everyone! We have a number of products in development.

For years, I experimented with various formulations of essential oils, herbs, and herbal extracts, combining them with nutrients and foods. Some formulas worked better than others, but the results of a number of them have truly astonished even me! Skin of Gold™ face cream was born, focusing on those 4 qualities Ariana found (see above) were LACKING in natural, organic skincare products on the market... quality & price, effectiveness, shelf life, and simple & practical. I knew it would be good, but wow!
