The Dirty Dozen Ingredients that are Not in Skin of Gold™

We present a list of 12 ingredients used in body care products that pose a substantial risk to you and the environment.

Read the label or else.

When discussing toxic ingredients, it’s important to keep things in balance. Medical doctors, pharmacists and toxicologists are all taught that all substances are potentially toxic when consumed in sufficient quantities. “All substances” includes water, salt, vitamins, minerals and other materials that you need to sustain life. The ingredients listed below represent a substantial health risk because they can accumulate in the body to dangerous levels or are dangerous at ANY level. None of these dangerous ingredients are necessary because there are safe substitutes for them.

Chemical or scientific names always sound like lethal test tube babies. Please bear in mind that most of the life-sustaining nutrients have technical names of this nature. For example, anthocyanidins sound like some kind of poison to most people, but is the active ingredient in bilberry supplements (bilberry is European for blueberry). This supplement helps millions of people stay healthy and is also used to restore health. We urge you to investigate ingredients that have names that you are not familiar with. As there are many opinions – some extreme in both directions – it’s a good idea to search several sites to come to a balanced understanding of the truth of these matters.

The word “preservative” is certainly not consumer-friendly. Without preservatives, many people are applying solutions to their skin that contain bacteria, molds and virus.  Obviously preservatives serve a purpose, so long as the good outweigh the bad and they’re not downright lethal.

Many products on the market today that are, for the most part, toxic chemical soup, are described on the label as “natural.” So read labels and remember, if you put too many nasty chemicals into your body, naturally they’ll make you sick.

The world we live in is getting sicker due to products we use, including body care, beauty products and pharmaceuticals. If it’s not good for you, it cannot be good for the environment.
